Worked example
A ₹1,00,000 chit with 20 members, a 5% commission (₹5,000) and a winning bid of ₹25,000. The regular monthly payment is ₹5,000.

If the commission comes out of the discount, the members bear it and the winner keeps the full ₹75,000. If it comes out of the payout, the winner bears it and the whole bid goes to the members as dividend.
This is an estimate. For a real auction chit, ChitsApp also rounds each member’s dividend and checks the bid against the chit’s own limits (at least the commission, where it comes from the bid, and no more than the maximum discount).
