Terms & Conditions

Effective date: [DD Month YYYY] · Last updated: 19 October 2026

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of ChitsApp, including our website, web application, mobile application and related services (“Service”).

ChitsApp is operated by [Full Legal Entity Name] (“ChitsApp”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

By creating an account, accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use ChitsApp on behalf of a business or organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf.

1. About ChitsApp

ChitsApp is a software platform that helps chit-fund organisers manage their operations. Features may include:

  • Creating and managing chit schemes.
  • Maintaining member records.
  • Preparing chit schedules and cycle details.
  • Recording full and partial collections.
  • Recording recipient, payout and commission information.
  • Generating transaction records, receipts and reports, including PDF and Excel files.
  • Giving your staff access with roles and permissions.
  • Using the Service on the mobile and web platforms we support.

Features may vary by plan, platform, location or release.

2. Eligibility and account responsibility

You must provide accurate information when creating and maintaining an account. You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms and must use the Service only for lawful purposes.

You sign in using the methods we offer, such as a one-time code sent to your phone number or email address, or a password. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your login credentials and one-time codes confidential.
  • Controlling access to your account and devices.
  • Giving staff members only the permissions they need.
  • Reviewing activity performed through your account.
  • Telling us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

You must not impersonate another person, provide misleading information, attempt to bypass access controls or use another user’s account without permission.

3. Your role as a chit-fund organiser

ChitsApp provides management software.

Unless we expressly agree otherwise in a separate written agreement, ChitsApp does not operate your chit schemes or act as the foreman, subscriber, agent, trustee or financial intermediary for your chit-fund business.

You remain responsible for the chit-fund business you operate, including:

  • Obtaining and maintaining any registrations, approvals, licences and permissions required by applicable law.
  • Preparing and complying with the applicable chit agreement and scheme terms.
  • Making sure that scheme structures, instalments, discounts, dividends, commissions, payouts and schedules are lawful and correctly set up.
  • Giving members the information and notices they are entitled to.
  • Verifying member identities and records where legally required.
  • Recording collections, payouts, refunds, adjustments and other financial events accurately.
  • Handling disputes, defaults, complaints and statutory filings.
  • Complying with applicable data protection, consumer protection, financial and chit-fund laws.

You should check scheme set-ups and financial calculations against the relevant agreement and applicable law before relying on them.

4. Financial records and calculations

ChitsApp calculates and displays amounts from the information, settings and transactions entered into the Service. These outputs help with day-to-day record-keeping. They are not a substitute for your own verification.

You are responsible for reviewing important financial information, including:

  • Member instalments and outstanding balances.
  • Partial payments and cumulative collections.
  • Dividends, discounts, bids, commissions and payouts.
  • Recipient and cycle details.
  • Receipts, reports and adjustments.

A receipt or transaction entry in ChitsApp is a record kept by the software. It does not, by itself, prove that money was transferred, cleared or received by a bank or another party.

A payment entered by mistake is generally corrected through a recorded reversal or adjustment, rather than by deleting the original entry, so that the history stays reliable.

ChitsApp does not receive, hold, safeguard or transfer chit-fund money on your behalf under the Service described in these Terms.

If we later add payment processing or another financial service, additional terms will apply.

5. Member information and your authority to use it

You may enter information about your members, such as names, phone numbers, scheme participation and payment records.

If you allow the app to read your phone’s contacts so that you can choose members, you remain responsible for adding only people you are entitled to add.

You confirm that you have a lawful basis and any necessary authority to provide this information and use it through ChitsApp. You must give members notices and obtain consents where applicable law requires.

You must not use the Service to harass members, disclose their information unlawfully, send unlawful communications or use their information for unrelated purposes without a lawful basis.

You remain responsible for the accuracy and legality of the information you enter.

6. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Use ChitsApp for fraud, unlawful financial activity or any other illegal purpose.
  • Upload malicious code or attempt to compromise the Service.
  • Access data belonging to another organisation without authorisation.
  • Interfere with the availability, security or integrity of the Service.
  • Reverse-engineer or copy protected parts of the Service, except as applicable law permits.
  • Misuse the reporting, export or sharing features.
  • Enter content that violates another person’s rights or applicable law.

We may investigate suspected misuse and take proportionate action where reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service or legal compliance.

7. Plans, fees and payments

ChitsApp may offer free and paid plans. The features, usage limits, fees, billing frequency and applicable taxes for a plan will be shown when the plan is offered.

If a free plan or trial is available, it is subject to the limits and conditions shown at that time.

For paid plans, you agree to pay the fees and taxes shown at purchase. Renewal, cancellation, refund and upgrade terms will be shown with the relevant offer.

We may change plan features or prices going forward, subject to applicable law and any commitment already made to you. A price change will not apply to a period you have already paid for.

8. Data, exports and backups

You keep your rights in the business information and records you submit to the Service. You allow us to host, process, transmit, back up and otherwise use that information as reasonably necessary to provide, secure and support ChitsApp, in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Reports and exports, where available, are subject to the features and limits of your plan. You are responsible for keeping any additional records or copies your business or the law requires.

We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no online service or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure or uninterrupted.

9. Availability and changes to the Service

We may update, improve, suspend or discontinue features to maintain, secure or improve the Service. We will take reasonable steps to tell you about material changes.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation or compatibility with every device, network or third-party service.

If a connection drops while you record something, the app may keep the unsent entry on your device until it reaches our servers. Treat an entry as recorded only once the app confirms it. A record that is only on a device and has not reached our servers is not the definitive record.

10. Third-party services and communications

The Service relies on third-party infrastructure and services, such as hosting, databases, and telephone, email or messaging networks. Those services have their own terms, availability limits and privacy practices, and the providers we use may change over time.

We may send one-time sign-in codes and other account messages to the phone number or email address you provide. Delivery depends on third-party providers and networks, and we do not guarantee it.

Unless we say otherwise, ChitsApp does not send messages to your members on your behalf. Features may let you open WhatsApp or another app with a pre-filled message. You send that message yourself, from your own account or device, and you are responsible for it being lawful and appropriately authorised.

11. Intellectual property

ChitsApp and its software, branding, interface, design and documentation are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Subject to these Terms and any plan restrictions, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your legitimate business operations.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of ChitsApp’s intellectual property to you.

12. Suspension, account deletion and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may be able to delete your own account in the app. Deleting it signs you out. You may be able to restore it for a limited period by signing in again. After that, the personal details on that account may be erased or anonymised.

Deleting your own account does not necessarily delete the organisation’s chit records, such as members, schedules, payments and the history of changes. Those may stay with the organisation and its other users. To ask us to close an organisation or remove records, contact us using the details below.

We may restrict, suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of a material breach of these Terms, suspected fraud, security risks, unlawful use, non-payment of applicable fees or a legal requirement. Where appropriate and lawful, we will give notice and a chance to fix the issue first.

Retention and deletion of information are covered by our Privacy Policy, applicable law and any record-keeping duties. Download the reports you need before you close an account.

13. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that the software will meet every business requirement, that all calculations will suit every scheme, or that using ChitsApp alone will ensure compliance with applicable law.

ChitsApp does not provide legal, accounting, investment or financial advice. Please get qualified advice where you need it.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits a right, remedy or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service, including loss of business opportunity, revenue or goodwill.

We are not responsible for disputes between organisers and members, for how an organiser runs their chit-fund business, for incorrect information entered by users, or for decisions made solely on unverified software outputs.

This section does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for fraud or wilful misconduct.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the Service, the law or our business. The revised version will be published with an updated date.

Where the law requires, or where a change materially affects your rights, we will give appropriate notice and obtain any acceptance required.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, subject to any mandatory legal protections that apply to you.

Disputes will be handled by the courts or dispute-resolution forums that have jurisdiction under applicable law.
